Mountain Manager
Mount Snow
Our collaboration with SMI has delivered the snowmaking performance we needed, and also brought the benefits of energy efficiency, quiet operation, and environmental stewardship.
DAVE TUCHOLKE, VAIL MOUNTAIN OPERATIONS MANAGER
Golden Peak
We can now monitor and control all of the SMI machines from a single computer. We can take temperature and humidity readings from all over the mountain, and we can configure individual weather stations to run a combination of guns, based on the specific conditions from that area.
BARRETT BURGHARD, SNOWMAKING MANAGER
Heavenly Valley
We knew early on that snowmaking was critical to a great experience on the hills. The snow is the reason people come; everything else is secondary. So we really focused on it right from the beginning, and we’ve enhanced our snowmaking capability every year.
CHIP PERFECT, PRESIDENT AND GENERAL MANAGER
Perfect North
We estimate that the amount of energy needed to operate just three air-water guns can now run TEN of the new fan guns.
BOB SOKOLOWSKI, PLANNING MANAGER
Snow Summit
We are very pleased with the -2.5 °C start-up temperature and excellent flow rates through the machines. We can now cover our main pistes in 70 hours of snowmaking. Once again, SMI and Wintertechnik have delivered as promised.
TECHNICAL DIRECTOR, RUDI HIRSCHHUBER
Grossglockner
SMI equipment has the horsepower to produce bulk amounts of snow during marginal conditions and can be throttled back for a high-quality finish on top.
