SMI Engineering & Design
Existing System Review
SMI has an experienced global team dedicated to engineering and design. From retrofitting existing systems to modernize a system, to adding trails to creating a master plan for a brand new resort, SMI has the experience and expertise to create an efficient and cost effective solution that will be successful and custom tailored to your resort.
SMI will overview the existing snowmaking system coverage areas, weather data, water supply and distribution, power supply and distribution, air supply and distribution, snow gun fleets and capital/operating costs at your ski resort. We then take the time to understand your mountain, preferences and costs to help design a high value solution.
SMI will help develop a phased snowmaking high level master plan that meets your ski resort needs. The master plan can be big picture only or a fully detailed and specified design. SMI excels at finding the best methods for collecting, storing and distributing water in difficult mountain terrain.
"Good plans shape good decisions. Developing and implementing a snowmaking master plan can help you provide the best snow surfaces to your guests for the least total cost."
